What used to be an old pineapple cannery is now Mala, the epitome of global organic fusion cuisine. It's not as complicated as it sounds. Chef Mark Ellman has his concepts straight: keep everything fresh, quantities adequate, use organic ingredients as much as possible and use no hydrogenated oils or preservatives. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff, good food. Great prices.
Aside from one of the best spots on Maui to catch the fabulous sunsets the food is outstanding as well as attentive service. That Asian chicken salad in a homemade balsamic dressing is one of best have ever eaten. Small, quaint spit in Lahaina. A must if you can get in.
Great food with a great view. Also good for just drinks and appetizers. Bonus, the staff is very friendly! I will be back!
