What used to be an old pineapple cannery is now Mala, the epitome of global organic fusion cuisine. It's not as complicated as it sounds. Chef Mark Ellman has his concepts straight: keep everything fresh, quantities adequate, use organic ingredients as much as possible and use no hydrogenated oils or preservatives. The staff is incredible, the food is wonderful. Mahalos Mala Ocean Tavern.
Amazing! This is our favorite on Maui and never disappoints. The spicy seafood pasta is awesome and the lamb flatbread is delicious! When on Maui you'll miss out if you don't try this place! Practice aloha!

Most magical place on Maui!!!! Fabulous food, heavenly atmosphere, and SEA TURTLES!!!! I could sit there for hours soaking it all in (and have). Must visit if going to Maui!

I love Mala it is literally on the water & the view is spectacular!!! The quality of food is amazing! Quartet of hummus & the seared ahi bruschetta are my go to's. The drinks are actually strong, and the service is always friendly. Danielle is such an awesome bartender she's super fast, efficient, funny, & attentive! She personally stuffed my olives with blue cheese and was happy to do it. Yummm. Overall great experience & I havd never been let down.
Service was good, but the food was sub-par and over priced, not the same as our our last visit. Is the chef/owner loosing his vision?
