Great sushi This is a good place to go if you are looking for great sushi and an intimate atmosphere. The staff is very polite and friendly and the food is amazing! The fish is always fresh. I highly recommend the tuna roll. Also, you probably want to make reservations on the weekend nights as it can get pretty crowded. Don't forget that it's BYOB and for the non-sushi eaters their teriyaki dishes and tempuras are also delicious!
Sushi in the Northeast? – With the amazing dining rennaisance occuring downtown, it's good to see a little of it has branched out to the Northeast. Makiman is elegant and cozy with a very friendly staff. If you have a small party, be sure to sit at the bar. It's only about 6 seats, and the chef, a form sushi roller from the great "Morimoto" on Chestnut will answer all questions and loves to accomodate the, "Just surprise me." order. Great Sushi and Atmosphere What a wonderful find. Although I haved lived around the corner for just about a year, I recently discovered this Sushi bar. This is authenic sushi, which is such a nice treat. They are now serving a Sushi Happy Hour with $1.00 sushi. A really nice intimate atmosphere. Although the location is near main streets, it is located at a busy intersection and can be a bit hard to miss.
Do You Like It Raw? Yes Nestled in an unlikely place (behind a Dunkin Donuts at the Five Points Intersection in Burholme). Makiman Sushi is one of the best sushi bars I've found in our city. Being an advid raw fish consumer myself. The small intiment establishment offers delicious Japanese food in a quaint and friendly environment. The staff is friendly and charming. Great Sushi, Awesome Price, Highly Recommend – Tucked away in Fox Chase this restaurant is a real gem. I was hesitant to try it because of the idea of sushi but my husband talked me into it and I love it! They also offer a great selection of cooked food. Fresh – Best Sushi restaurant in the northeast. I could have saved alot of money on gas and parking, why go to center city. Very different types of makis that I have never seen any where. Great staff, it's alway been fresh, now they have "$1 Sushi happy hours" How are they doing this with such high quality fresh ingredients? Highly, highly, recomended
