The treatment at Maine Medical is okay. The billing system is a joke. Was on a payment plan 5 years ago to pay a debt from 2014 - 2015 which was paid in full, yet they put my account into collections of $200 in 2020. Now they can't even find the payment plan and expect me to go back to the bank 5 years later to prove payment. Now mind you the total debt was around $500. Doesn't even make sense. Plus I have had stays since 2015 and everything has been paid in full. What a scam to the unknowing consumer.
Back in October I was transferred to Maine Medical Center from a hospital in NH. I had to wait on a stretcher in the hallway of the ER Department for about 8 hours. I was very sick, uncomfortable and in pain. I was regretting my decision to be sent here. However, once I got to a room, the nurses, doctors and other staff provided me the most wonderful, skilled and compassionate Care that I have ever received elsewhere. I am so very greatfull for everyone that I met there. Thank you all!

Beautiful hospital. Got lost a couple times haha. Wife will be giving birth soon.
I was there for 5 months. a doctor named scott was wonderful. he was a youg doctor. a nurse on the 4th floor named craig was great. scott saved my life.
From one of my follows: "MMC in Portland, ME. I'm in ER. We have had frequent updates in our shift change huddle for a couple of months. Inserviced on isolation transport module. Maps of Africa and information posted in all triage rooms. Recently because of circumstances have increasing education including donning and doffing equipment and PAPPER respirators." THANK YOU!!
