I recently had surgery at Maine Medical Center in Portland and all of the employees, from the receptionist to the nurses and residents, were all very kind, caring, and attentive. I arrived at the hospital at 5:30am, and everyone was very pleasant and assured me that I would be in the best of hands during surgery and afterwards. One of my nurses in ASU, Patti, was wonderful, and made sure I had everything I needed. This is the best hospital I have ever been to. Thank you for all that you do for patients and their families.
The treatment at Maine Medical is okay. The billing system is a joke. Was on a payment plan 5 years ago to pay a debt from 2014 - 2015 which was paid in full, yet they put my account into collections of $200 in 2020. Now they can't even find the payment plan and expect me to go back to the bank 5 years later to prove payment. Now mind you the total debt was around $500. Doesn't even make sense. Plus I have had stays since 2015 and everything has been paid in full. What a scam to the unknowing consumer.
Back in October I was transferred to Maine Medical Center from a hospital in NH. I had to wait on a stretcher in the hallway of the ER Department for about 8 hours. I was very sick, uncomfortable and in pain. I was regretting my decision to be sent here. However, once I got to a room, the nurses, doctors and other staff provided me the most wonderful, skilled and compassionate Care that I have ever received elsewhere. I am so very greatfull for everyone that I met there. Thank you all!
As an athlete and veteran, I have been in my share of hospitals. After 5 weeks of radiation, I have NEVER met people so caring and kind anywhere! Not just in the health field, anywhere in LIFE! ! You turned away a friend of mine this weekend. She went to the ER to get help because she was suicidal. You sent her home with even more drugs. She killed herself. How does that make you feel? Nice work ER.
