They've all taken rides on the Maid of the Mist—or rather one of seven Maids, which first launched its boats in 1846. This world-famous boat takes its passengers right into the heart of the Falls. You can catch the boat on either the American or Canadian side, with boardings every 15 minutes between April and the end of October.

getting so close to the falls
I went yesterday October 19, 2018. No line at all and the people weren't stuffed in there like sardines. The bot was about 1/3 full. I had the time of my life.
It’s a lifetime memory to cherish having gone to the bottom of the waters feeling the mist all around yet captivated by nature’s wonderful beauty of the three great water falls. Never miss the opportunity to ride on the Maid of the Mist when in Niagara Falls... it’s so fun and very exciting an adventure to treasure forever. Cheers
