Great food, not so great service – the food is always good .. though the service is not that special .. would recommend for a bite
Highly Recommended! – Madam mam's is consistently good and fresh food. The service is friendly although they are a little understaffed so service can get slow when they are busy (which is to be expected from a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant. As far as those tip horror stories, the standard tip is supposed to be 15% so those who are complaining about a 10% tip should learn some restaurant etiquette of their own. Ok food for the price – Good pad thai but overall the food is just average. The service is not too prompt so you should expect to have a it of delay in receiving your food.
Great Food, Bad Service – I'm going to have to say that while the food is pretty decent at this restaurant, the service is horrible. Especially when it is particularly crowded, you'll find yourself ignored by the staff. They also have issues with tipping. If you don't tip at this restaurant, watch yourself because they have the nerve to follow you out of the restaurant and ask about the tip. Yuck! – My soup looked like dishwater & did not taste any better. The one on campus is MUCH better.
Terrible Service! – This restaurant has good food but terrible service and the owners are cheap.I once ordered a Pad Thai with shrimp and it was a big plate of pasta and 3 shrimp when i asked the waiter he rudely replied "it's only $6.95 how many do you want,3 more for $1"My girlfriend ordered a Thai Tea one day and because she was sick she didn't want any ice in it.The waiter rudely offered to give her only half a cup of tea if she didn't want ice,I mean, how cheap can you be?I've never ordered a coke with no ice at McDonal... read more
tasty and fresh food – Don't let these complaints about service keep you from eating here. I've eaten lunch at Madam Mam's probably 30 times, and I've never been treated rudely. Sometimes it takes a while to get noticed by your server, and they don't really volunteer anything but basic service - taking your order and bringing your food - but you have to consider how good this food is for how cheap it is, and that this is primarily a lunch spot. Horrible Service – The food is good and cheap, but they've got really terrible service, and you've to expect yourself paying more than 10% tips! One time the waiter chased out (yes!) after we left, telling us that we didnt pay enough tips, me and my friend felt robbed. changed a lot on negative side – We've been having thai food here for more than two years now and i've always had Pad Thai and it always tasted good-best Pad thai in austin,but since march 2004 or so the taste of Pad Thai has changed and it does not taste good,also i think that previously they used add green onions or at least i could see something green which these days i dont see any green at all. the lady servers/waiters here are in such a hurry to send the customers out that even though they see the plate is full of food... read more
