Excellent! – Never have I seen a bouncer at a pizza place before but after seeing the crowd and eating the pizza I see why a bouncer is a must! He keeps the line moving and the people in line. The line is around the corner at 2am with a bunch of "happy" late night partiers who need something good to eat and this is the place to go. No ambience, service is fast but that's about it and the pizza is the best. If you're on South Street, day or night, make this place one of your stops. It will be worth your while!
BIGGEST SLICES with philly attitude – This is great pizza. Coming from New York, I have never seen a place that has such big friggin' slices of pizza. This place puts philly on the map for more than just cheesesteaks. The slices are thin, but the pies these slices come from has to be at least 12" in radius, and they are good.
The BEST at 2am – Lorenzo's slices are HEAVEN after a night out on the town.
good sober, better drunk – well, the atmosphere is excellent here, the service is quick, the $2 large slices are a good deal, and the pizza isnt bad. I'm not saying its the best pizza in the world, but its pretty good. It probably has such a good reputation because its a good place to go when your drunk and have $2 in your pocket, cause everything tastes a little better then. I however, wasnt drunk and still thought it was good. So I'd recommend.
A Philly Classic! – A great deal for an enormous slice of pizza that's the perfect after hours snack. Let's face it, no one would stand in a long line to deal with pretty brusque service if the pizza weren't good. While I love crispy, brick oven dough, I make an exception for Lorenzo's chewy, soft crust.
Good Stuff – There's not much to it. Pizza and soda, but it's good pizza. And at $2 for a huge slice, it's a great deal, too. Unlike another place about 14 blocks west on South St that also sells huge slices for $2, this pizza is actually really good. The sauce and crust are, to me, consistently good. Service is quick, and gets the long lines moving. I just wish I didn't live across town, because a slice and a soda from here is my favorite $3 lunch.
ADDICTIVE – I was there a few nights ago, and they serve a huge slice for $2. My friend was joking and said it looked like the whole pie itself. This place is addictive...sometimes it don't taste the same as the other nite, but it is still good.
GREAT SLICE – THE BEST SLICES PERIOD. WAS A LITTLE SKEPTICAL BECAUSE I COULDN'T GET A TOPPING ON A SINGLE SLICE, BUT IT DIDN'T NEED IT. THE FULL PIE (WHERE YOU CAN GET SLICES) IS OUTSTANDING. THEY DON'T SACRIFICE QUANTITY OVER QUALITY. YOU GET BOTH. THE SERVERS COULD USE A LITTLE EDUCATION IN CUSTOMER SERVICE, JUST BECAUSE YOUR PRODUCT SELLS ITSELF DOESN'T GIVE YOU CARTE BLANCHE TO BE RUDE. ATMOSPHERE IS NONE; THE OLD BROAD STREET SUBWAY STATIONS ARE CLEANER AND PRETTIER. TAKE YOUR SLICE OUTSIDE AND PEOPLEWATCH!
Lorenzo & Son's is the Best of the Best! – Their pizza absolutely melts in your mouth. The slices are huge and the prices per slice are VERY reasonable. My favorite time to go: late night/early morn right after out partying when I'm feeling pretty toasty from the alcohol. If you haven't tried this pizza, I HIGHLY recommend this place!
