Mrs. Terrible, terrible, terrible customer service. The office manager is probably the rudest person I have run into in my life. She treated me as if she was doing me a favor by going through my application. I understand that business is business but at the same time this is no way to treat people, especially when working in a community of soldiers and their families. Wonderful Experience I am a returning Soldier to both Killeen/Ft. Hood and Longhorn Properties. I have rented from this company for the past six years in between a few deployments. Still Good People We bought a house a few years ago and when we got our last PCS orders we did not hesitate to give our house to Longhorn Properties to manage. If they make the residents take care of the house like they made us take care of the places we rented I know we will be OK. Poor management It is unfortunate that I have to write such a poor review for this company. I really wanted to like them. I am a property owner and I am very unhappy with the way Longhorn handled my property. They managed my property for 4 months and during that time it took them 1 month to figure out how to have the utilities turned on. Darlene, who is one of the owners, is one of the most unprofessional business persons I have ever met. She could not meet her self imposed deadline two weeks in a row. Glad Still There I got back to the states and was gald to see Longhorn was still there. The ladies in the office were different but they were still cool. I told my girl to go see them and they helped my girl find a place. Her credit was a little messed up but they got her straight and she is in. Down to earth...cool people. I like them and will tell my peeps whenever they are looking for a new place.....
I've had much better I renting from this company for about 8 months. The front desk staff was decent and professional but the conditions of the units were not the best. They require bi-annual cleanings and inspections and it made it seem as if the tenants were responsible for the upkeep rather than the agency. Repairs were done in a fair amount time. Doing the right Thing At first I was mad at Longhorn for charging me for cleaning and repairs until I called them and realized they were right. I let a friend do stuff and never checked. I should have did a better job of filling out the paper they gave when i move in and i should have stayed for the inspection. After i spoke to them i guess i was better because the truth is they were right and i was wrong. They worked with me on some of the charges and set-up a payment plan so it wont hurt my credit. GETTO RELATORS Stay Away from this AWFUL relator. Longhorn is not a good property to rent from. When you first sign the lease they are all friendly but wait until you have a problem they are all rude and attitudal. Ms. Alfred and Barbara Holt is GETTO, they have attitudes every time you step foot in the office. The only thing they care about is geeting the rent not fixing up their properties. Hard Lesson to learn I was reading thru some of the reviews and noticed a really bad one and had to set-up an account to say what I wanted to say cause it really hit home. I can only say that my expereience with Longhorn property management was good. They do not always agree with me but i guess it is business. I was mad when they made me pay all those fees and stuff but i guess i should have read better. they wanted me to read all that stuff but i did not have time and it cost me but i learned my lesson.
