great prices and care, but LONG waits I've been happy with Long Lake Animal hospital.. we take our two large breed dogs there. One of our dogs had a growth on her leg and I took her in. They took her the same day even though they were completely booked. I waited 1 1/2 hours. It was a bit stressful to wait so long, but I was only charged $34 for antibiotics and the visit. First impressions are LASTING impressions!! STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!! Called for a first time appointment and was RUSHED through the phone call. I asked about the visit and wanting to bring my animal in same day due to a concern I have and was told, "NO, I ABSOLUTLY CAN NOT DO THAT." I only have one Dr. here today. Great Place! My husband was referred to Long Lake Animal Hosipital by a co-worker. It's definitely not fancy (and there is almost always a wait), but they do a great job and you can't beat the prices. I would never compromise my dog's health just for cheap rates, but this place is great! We have never had a problem.
pet owner I have been going to Long Lake Animal Hospital for at least 5 or 6 years and the Dr. there works very long hours to take care of all the pets he sees and cares for all the animals like there are his own and I would not take my pet any where else because when I leave this place I know my pet was well taken care of and the other places you go the prices are very high and he makes it to where you can afford to have your pet taken care of because he wants people too take care of there pets and he makes it affordable fo... read more
Dr Havas deserves to be nominated for sainthood! I've been taking my animals to Dr. Havas since I was in the 5th grade. I'm now 51. I won't go anywhere else. Dr. Havas is always sure of himself and takes the utmost care of his patients and owners. My dog had a siezures at 3 a.m. Christmas morning. When I called Dr. Havas, he calmed me down, told me what todo and had me meet him at the office Christmas day as soon as all three of us got maybe a few hours of sleep. EVERYBODY IS RIGHT (ALMOST) Yes, the decor is old.and tired. Yes, the staff is lean and harried (but not uncaring). No, they don't take credit cards (wish they did). Yes, wait times are long. Yes, Dr. H comes off as taciturn, abrupt and a bit morose. Yes, he demands that the pet owner take full responsibility for the animal and will come down hard on owners who he thinks are not meeting that responsibility. BUT... Michigan Dachshund Rescue-Debra Boucher I operate the Michigan Dachshund Rescue. I presently have 7 dogs. Four are mine the rest are rescues. I have been taking them to Long Lake Animal Hospital about 10 years. Dr. H and the staff have been wonderful. There prices are what I can afford, because I personally fund the rescue. Horrible! Dr. Havas has no respect or compassion for your pet or for you. We have been bringing our dog to him since last year due to a tumor he was developing. We scheduled him for a surgery last year till he became sick so the doc said not to go forward with the surgery. He also said because of how it was that it wasn't cancerous and nothing to worry about. We noticed lately that the tumor has grown and took him in today for a recheck. A long Wait I took our animals here when we first got them. A friend told us they went here and loved it. I was not impressed. It was a long wait and the waiting room is very small. It seemed like my animals weren't given the time they deserve. I would never go back enven though the price is very reasonable.
