This was my husband and I's first time here, and it was amazing! We had no idea there was a downstairs, which was where we were seated, and I believe it is called he Saugatuck Brewery. I had a Michigan Mule to start, which was fantastic. Atmosphere was great, our server was wonderful. My husband had 1/2 a chicken, smoked bacon and garlic mashed potatoes, and finished every bite! I had the beef brisket, smoked bacon, and creamy coleslaw. I loved all of the BBQ sauce options, and also finished every bite. Prices were a little ... read more

Thank you, Blythe! Our downstairs is still Lockhart's BBQ - Royal Oak, but we do have specials there on Thursday nights during Lockdown Thursday where we regularly have tap takeovers from breweries and tons of drink and food specials. We also hold special and private events down there if you're ever interested. Thanks again for your support!
Accept no substitute, especially the hipster favorite in Corktown. This is the home of the best barbecue in metro Detroit. Yes, the service isn't always great, but the brisket is so good that I don't care.
We had the Lockhart special with ribs, sausage, and p!ulled pork with a side of sweet potato fries. We had a cup of Gumbo soup that was fantastic! The food was very tasty along with the fun atmosphere. We received great service! Thank you

Thank you, Kathy!
We went here for Valentine's Day dinner and we both had the smoked lamb chops. Excellent! And the thin fries were perfectly done, too. You need to add this to your regular menu.

Thank you, Bob!
It was my first time eating here and it was some of the best brisket I've had and by far the best BBQ in Detroit
Business response:
We think so too, Kyle! Thank you very much for coming in. We hope to see you more and more.
Been coming here since it opened, I think back in 2010. Staff is great, food is great quality, good value. Last night was slightly disappointing; not the food or the service. But David wanted the dark chocolate créme brûlée... It was ackward because they would not sell it to us. We were told you could only get it if you ordered the lamb chops. We really wanted to try it, but supposedly there was no way around it. - I guess is an option we didn't have after been "lifetime customers"... Better luck next time to us. 😳🙄
Great BBQ with a good beer selection. I love the brisket.... another is the nacho appetizer
