Everything went more smoothly than I expected. After dealing with a nightmare from Frredom Mortgage, I expected a similar experience. Loan Depot did an excellent job.

Do not trust this company. I authorized a payment of $21.70 to lock in interest rate with option to not proceed with the loan. Called, emailed the next day with notice not to proceed with the loan. That very day there was an unauthorized transaction on my credit card of $495 appraisal fee. I have finally after numerous calls received an email saying I am due a refund and it may take 7 to 30 days to receive. It has been 27 days since the initial transaction came out of my credit card, now I'm paying interest on a charge I did... read more

*************************** and her Team, they are amazing - as first time homebuyers we were nervous and anxiously awaiting every correspondence. Her Team made us feel at ease with the process and took the time to explain everything timely and with patience. Are loan was locked at a great rate - we couldnt ask for anymore. I politely asked a rep at this company to remove me from their mailing list. The person hung up on me. I called again and the same rep answered and said I would need to do this online. However, their marketing letter clearly states that you can opt out of promotions by mailing or by calling. If they are dishonest with such a simple thing, how can they be trusted being honest, clear and transparent with regards to the "fine print" involved in loans and lending. Better get a 6-month escrow! LoanDepot = great rates, loooonnnggg closing times.My loan got stuck in underwriting for 3 months, with no information or status updates. Occasionally they would ask for additional information, which was typically redundant with information I had already provided, or completely nonsensical.

Very responsive and experienced customer service I ever dealt with. They made a complicated process very simple and easy. They did care about our needs and they came up with the best loan for us.
