Try the Mediterranean chicken pizza, or try the vegetarian pizza, which will have you converted in no time. Little Star also offers thin crusts, which are, honestly, just as good as the incredibly taste-infused deep dishes for which they are famous. Best Pizza in San Francisco – Little Star Pizza is comparable to Zachary's in Berkeley. I'm still partial to Zachary's but Little Star makes awesome deep dish Chicago-ish pizza. You'll have to wait to get a seat though.
I Can Help with "No credit Card dilema" Regardless; Best Pizza In Town!!!! – First off...I live a block away from little star and have been going there since it opened. I have read alot of the reviews and must say; Regardless of what you read, this is the best deep dish in SF and perhaps a top 10 Nation Wide ranking...and I have lived in Chicago! As for complaints I have read about the crowd... yeah it gets busy, you have to wait a long time for a table...but thats because it is a small place with great food. If ya don't lik... read more
Damn fine pie. – I've never actually eaten in the restaurant, preferring to park illegally on the street and take my pie home to inhale, but the interior and vibe certainly is enticing. Even more so are the deep-dish pizzas. I've always opted for a sort of "supreme" pie, but was recently prompted to order a special - a BBQ chicken with green apple. I usually don't like chicken, and find BBQ pizzas to be far too sweet. Little Star's version is a foodie delight it was simply fabulous. A good zing with the sauce, countered with... read more
The place is going down hill – Little Star got an attitude. The waiters are snobby and rude. When I asked what is your favorite pizza, she said "I've been working here too long, they all taste the same," while looking off in the distance. As soon as we finished our food, we were finishing our wine, and the manager? came over and said "can you please finish up as we have people waiting." He did not ask nicely and he could have offered us a place by the bar as we hadn't even finished our wine. VERY rude.
best jukebox of any restaurant, anywhere. – the wait for a table was definitely worth it - we were able to hear our full playlist of jukebox selections. the cornmeal crust made me a fan of deepdish. i'm going back tonight to try the thin-crust. our servers was friendly, responsive and quick - great attitude, without Attitude.
the pizza is NOT WORTH IT – This place used to be charming. Now- with the cash only, the crowds, the stuck up servers who can't get a beer to a table in less than ten minutes- it's not worth the headache.
great pizza, but... – Little Star recently decided to stop accepting credit cards. They said it was because if they didn't they would have to increase prices. Unfortunately Little Star took things a step further and decided, like many such restaurants, to take advantage of this new policy. They have installed their own ATM and are charging their customers to get cash. I find this shameful. If they object to paying credit card companies, that is fine. But to try to make more money off customers and pretending it is because th... read more
Business response:
thank you for the overall rating of "recommended." little star's ATM has a surcharge of 0.25 cents (probably the lowest fee of any non-bank ATM in the entire city). given this fact, it is hard to make the argument that we are "trying to make more money off of customers." the fact of the matter is that credit card processing is extremely expensive for small businesses and results in more profits for multi-billion dollar companies like visa, mastercard, and american express. thanks for your feedback and we hope to see you agai... read more
Little Star Pizza – Little star pizza has the ambiance of a cozy loft which makes for a personal experience with your eating neighbors, but at the same time makes you feel confortable. The pizza ingredients are exceptional, and the style of pizza is for ones own taste. Happy hour prices are very good, and I give the cheesecake a five star rating; the best I ever had.
Love little star – Its dark and simple inside. You may have to wait. The bar is tiny. Cash only. But Pizza is great. We love their dip dish. They do have our favorite topping, fresh basil. The pizza sauce is orgasmic. Oh.. if you don't want to wait - you can always order "to go".
Little Star Pizza has a 4.6 star rating with 1,154 reviews.
Little Star Pizza is open now. It will close at 6:00 p.m.
