Got a craving for some authentic deep dish pizza? This hip, fresh joint has food of tantalizing tastes to satisfy even the most jaded pizza enthusiast. Try the Mediterranean chicken pizza, or try the vegetarian pizza, which will have you converted in no time. Little Star also offers thin crusts, which are, honestly, just as good as the incredibly taste-infused deep dishes for which they are famous. With minimalist decor and a blaring jukebox to boot, Little Star will have you hooked.

Best deep dish pizza in Bay area! – Awesome pizza, great atmosphere and juke box. Blue Star beer on tap is my favorite as well as their champagne cocktail, Pompagne.
Good, Not Great – After hearing great thing about little star from citysearch and friends I decided to try it out. The placed was filled with yuppies and an unfriendly waitstaff, but I figured if the pizza was as good as everyone said it was I could always get take-out next time. My friend and I ordered the deep dish mediterranian pizza (listed as a "special"). I don't care for olives or onions so we ordered half with and half without. Unfortunately our waiter incorrectly told us which side was which and i ended up spitting ... read more
Too Cool to Have Customers – As a former Chicago resident and lover of its pizza, I just about always applaud new deep dish restaurants. But, I can't for Little Star. First the pizza is not that great. It has far less flavor than other recently opened restaurants in San Francisco or old standards in the east bay. The crust doesn't bring much to the pizza, either, as do the best of Chicago's pizza places. But, the worst part of Little Star is the service. Our server had a "This restaurant is so cool, you don't belong here att... read more
The rumors are true... – I'm not a deep dish aficionado, but I'd heard for years how good their pizza is and it's true! The service was good up until the waiter disappeared with the bill and we waited what seemed like forever to get change. It wasn't very busy. Will definitely go back.
The BEST Deep-Dish. Bar None! – It's magical. They've mastered the deep-dish pizza, particulary the crust. It's buttery, flakey, crunchy, chewy, gooey...it's DAMN good! I've eaten deep-dish in Chicago, and at Zachary's...and honestly, they couldn't hold Little Star's "jock strap!" If I had one criticism, it would be the service. It would be great if the servers/hostesses smiled a bit more and gave up on the "I'm cool" attitude...they're not fooling anyone. But look past that and experience the best deep-dish anywhere in the ... read more
YES YES YES!! – Okay, so I have heard great things about this place forever. But, we have walked away from the place after checking the wait length several times (before shows at the Indep.), which averages 1-2 hours during peak. My husband and I went to LS at 7 pm on a Sat. Not too long of a wait--so we got a beer at the bar and sipped on it before we got a table (only about 15 min.). The Boont Amber was very yummy. We split a mixed salad and a deep-dish pizza with pepperoni, roasted garlic, and pepperocinis. This was THE b... read more
Bay Area has OVERTAKEN Chicago for deep-dish – I am on a deep-dish pizza odyssey: - 10 times to Little Star, SF - 1 to Zachary's, Berkeley - 4 to Patxi's, SF - 1 to to Pizzeria Due, Chicago - Little Star has the best crust, and fantastic everything else, and edges out the others as the best of the list. That says a lot considering the competition. The pizza is just that good. The chic atmosphere hopefully doesn't skew my opinion. 10 out of 10. - Zachary's. This place wins all the awards every year for a good reason-- they ha... read more
Best deep dish in San Francisco!! – Great atmosphere for a casual date or happy hour with friends and consistently delicious deep dish pizza will keep me coming back. I love this spot. The only con I'd say is waiting to get a table during peak hours. Other than that, this place is fantastic. Very reasonable prices too, and good beers on tap :)
Great deep dish pizza – The Citysearch editorial pretty much nails it on the head on this little gem. The only drawback is the long wait for a table. The scene is young and lively - this is a happening place. On the Saturday night we visited, the wait was a ridiculous 90 minutes. We opted for take away and ate our pies in the hotel room. The house salad is fantasticly fresh and the signature Little Star deep dish is out of this world. It probably would have been even better if eaten fresh out of the oven, but it was still fa... read more
