A Matter of Taste Having enjoyed Lincoln Bakery for years, I suggested that my son and future daughter-in-law have a Wedding Cake tasting there. They spent the entire day taste-testing other bakeries in the Pittsburgh area. Of course they decided on Lincoln! The price was reasonable....the service was EXCELLENT....and the selection was more than they expected. Window Dressing The Lincoln Bakery in Bellevue, Pennsylvania has beautiful-looking pasteries but looks can be deceiving. Although the cakes are beautifully decorated to the finest detail, the taste leaves much to be desired. The staff will usually leave a bad taste in your mouth as well. They are often short and rude to customers and they make customers feel like a bother.
Very Disappointed I just want to say that the quality of the baked goods at Lincoln Bakery has gone down hill the past few years. Their cakes are so dry anymore. My husband brought some rolls home one day and they were hard. He used to stop there everyday after work and now he stops maybe once every couple of months. Shirl I have to say that I love the cakes at the Lincoln Bakery, but their staff is RUDE. They could care less about you being there, don't even ask for something that might "put them out". They have a ticket machine and a sign on the window saying that you MUST take a ticket, yet they don't run the ticket counter, so what's the point? What's the fuss about? My new next door neighbor lived in Bellevue all her life and loves this bakery. She raved so much about it that I had to try it for myself. I don't think there's anything in particular to write home about. There is a good selection of cookies and the like, and they taste pretty good. The cakes, though, BLAH! I thought the icing was way too sweet and the cake was so dry that even I (who hates to drink milk) was running to get a tall glass to get rid of the awful taste. Best I have ever had..... I grew up in this neighborhood and have tried many bakeries since this one and NOTHING compares!! I know live about 45 minutes away and still must drive down to Lincoln bakery for their delicious cakes. I especially must get the nut rolls they have in during Thanksgiving time! My mom and I haven't had Lincoln bakery in a couple years and we decided it was high time to get it again so I am getting us a Mother's Day cake from there! Poor customer service and awful cakes! My daughter is getting married and the venue uses Lincoln Bakery for the wedding cakes. We made an appointment for a tasting when we called the day before to confirm, they said we cancelled! They said we could pick up the cakes for tasting. That was fine...only when we got home, they gave us the wrong cakes! When we called and told them of the error, they said it was our fault because we cancelled!!! Bad Attitude Baked goods have always been delicious, but they really have to work on their customer service. Rude!!!!
