A favorite local stop since 1952, this bakery, less than a mile outside Waikiki, is famous for its malasadas. These pastries are a local favorite, similar to doughnuts only without the holes. They're best eaten hot, leaden when cold. Another specialty is pao doce (Portuguese sweet bread). Danish pastries, cookies, breads and specialty wedding and birthday cakes are also available. This is take out only; there is no place to sit. Parking is available.

We always go to Leonard’s every time we visit Hawaii. Love the original malasadas! If you haven’t tried malasadas, try it and you will love it. Made fresh every order😋😋😋

The bakery items were delicious!! Only problem we had was the guy taking the order couldn’t understand our order: “We want 1/2 dozen cinnamon and sugar...” and he kept saying after each time we repeated the order, “3 cinnamon and 3 sugar”. We’d say “No!” and repeat the order. I finally pointed to the sign and said, “1/2 dozen of that in the middle.” They were good though!! Probably would have ordered some filled ones too if it wouldn’t have been such an ordeal!
Oh my goodness!! These coconut � filling is the bomb!! So happy right now.
