Took my 4 runner on for service because screen on dash said malfunction and take to dealership and so I did and was told gas cap was not tightened and they want to charge me $79 cause they had to put it on diagnostic machine to tell me this. I feel like Im being scammed. I did tighten the gas cap because Ive read about this before and the message still appeared and check engine light was still on so I felt as though it needed to go to the dealer for service!
Had my brakes checked while it was at their collision shop and they said they resurfaced all the rotors. Drove less than a mile and the brakes were making a horrible grinding noise. Took the car back with about 700 more miles cause the whole car was shaking when braking Brian was completely rude about how they had to resurface them again and when I asked about the ruff rotors he said they weren’t all ruff but I beg to differ. Took truck to them once, said I had a broken wire cost $209.00. Check engine light came on again. Went to them, they charge $84.00 for the diagnostic test. Said I have a bad cam shaft positioning valve. Ask what it would cost, $347.99. I said order the part, went home and being a back yard mechanic I googled it. I bought the part for $17.99 and it was replaced in under three minutes. Called to cancel and told them what I did and said their price was a little pricey. Service was very good and they can shuttle you around instead of waiting on site the entire time. I asked for a specific part # since they charge $250 and I can get one online for $75 and they refused to give it to me. I guess spending $30,000 on a car isn’t enough… they need to get you on everything they can.
I wish 0 stars were possible for a review. I wouldn’t let Laurel Auto Group rotate my tires, let alone buy another vehicle from them. Terrible customer service. 10 out of 10 would NOT recommend! Buying experience was not bad because they want your business. But don’t expect them to do anything for you after the purchase. Apparently when your air conditioner doesn’t work in a $21,000 vehicle, it is from wear in tear on it. (Purchased December 2020, and never used the AC one time, until March).
