La Rustica

4.5

About this business

You're not likely to stumble across this romantic Italian restaurant accidentally since it's secluded on a residential street. But once you try something from the menu and you'll have the answer as to why the crowds pack this place. With a variety of gourmet pizzas, braised meats and flavorful pasta dishes, La Rustica is a culinary hot-spot. The view of Puget Sound from the front windows is also spectacular and only adds to the dining experience.

First Time – A charming discovery. We arrived at 630pm and the tiny place was full. Were told we would have a 30minute wait (reservations only for 6 or more), but we could wait in the bar (out the door and two doors down in the same building!). The "bar" was a TINY very rustic room; when we arrived, that made 11 people standing hip-to-hip; when we left there were 16-18 people in it! Despite the close quarters, we were well-served with wine and because of the close quarters, strangers actually talked to each other; so it was ... read more

Holy saltlick, Batman! – "The ambience is great, but could I have some food with my salt?" I was giddy with excitement when my soup arrived - all these great reviews surely couldn't be wrong! - but it only took one spoonful to realize that something was wrong. It looked and felt like soup, but tasted just like a bowl of salt (yet without the granularity). Not a hint of onion or tomato. I struggled in vain to enjoy my soup, but surrendered halfway. My girlfriend's soup was also . . . salty. Next up, our main course of pasta d... read more

Delightful ambiance – As the name suggests, this is a piece of rustic Italy and is to be experienced with all your senses. I have never been to Italy but it felt like one of the next best things. We went at 5pm as recommended by the insider tips and were immediately seated. Plenty of entrees to select from and when one in our party had a special request it was readily accepted. A bit disappointed when they were out of chocolate decadence for dessert. Guess we'll have to come back. Take a short stroll around the area after di... read more

Bravo!! – We've been coming to La Rustica for almost a year now, and have yet to have a less than perfect experience. The atmosphere is charming and romantic, the waitstaff is courteous and attentive. And oh, the food!! The linguine tartufo is my personal favorite, but just yesterday the peppercorn steak and pasta meal blew me away. This waterfront bistro is definitely among Seattle's best.

Roma! – I've never been to Italy but I just imagine it to be like La Rustica. Friendly people, amazing food, and that special 'magic' that makes an evening out so worth it. We are so lucky to have such a great neighborhood place in West Seattle. I have been there a number of times with my family and we are always warmly welcomed just like you'd expect from an Italian family. Looking forward to the next visit! And the bread! Its so good it dangerous!

That's a nice little place – I go to La Rustica with my wife once a month and every time we get the best Italian food. Tonite we ordered tortellini in a creamy tomato sauce with prosciutto and shitaki mushrooms it was austending then we split a veal loin chop with marsala wine, again sooooooo good. I recomand this fine restaurant even to my mother, she is Italian and a good cook!
