You're not likely to stumble across this romantic Italian restaurant accidentally since it's secluded on a residential street. But once you try something from the menu and you'll have the answer as to why the crowds pack this place. With a variety of gourmet pizzas, braised meats and flavorful pasta dishes, La Rustica is a culinary hot-spot. The view of Puget Sound from the front windows is also spectacular and only adds to the dining experience.

Are you kidding me? – the food is oversalted and the service was slowwwww! we had the gnocchi and it was not any better than what my girlfriend makes at home. i cant believe they can get away with charging those prices!!!
Engaged in Seattle – I am not from Seattle but my boyfriend suprised me with a trip in August. He took me to La Rustica one evening, we sat down as the sun was setting on the sound. The food was excellent and the environment was outstanding. The service was okay but the quaint setting, music, lighting and breeze from outside made it feel like we were eating alone. After dinner we took a walk on the beach and he preposed-the night was amazing and I couldn't have asked for something more special.
Didn't live up to the hype – I've heard for years that this place was great. I found the service to be lacking, the food over salted, and not what I expected for the amount we paid. The meat was good with our entree, but that was it! There are other great Italian restaurants in Seattle that far surpass La Rustica. It's worth the drive out of West Seattle to find them.
A new favorite – A friend recommended this restaurant highly. I went expecting a good meal and got a FANTASTIC meal instead! Truly an amazing meal. A basket of still warm garlic bread was brought to the table - delicious! The menu has many items to choose from a great selection of antipasti, primi and secondi. The ambience is wonderful like being in a rustic home. So warm and enviting. The owner was making the rounds to tables - clearly many of the customers are regulars and I hope to become one as well! The owners are Itali... read more
8th Wedding Anniversary – We went to La Rustica to celebrate our wedding anniversary. With 3 little ones at home, getting alone time between the adults is a rarity so I really wanted it to be special and did my research. I must say, the food is absolutely excellent. My wife had the special lamb shanks and I the risotto - both true delicacies. We had a bottle of chardonney. Though their selection on white wines is limited, it was very good. We finished by sharing a great tiramissu. LR is a hidden gem - try it!
viva la rustica – I must say after moving away from the Seattle area that La Rustica is one of the things I miss the most! The Cannelloni is absolutly the best I have ever had. Their staff is very knowledgable about their food and wines.Everything I have tried on the menu has been consistantly yummy. It is a very quaint place and can get a bit noisy but the decor and atmosphere makes up for it. I would recommend making reservations and specify a window seat, or a seat in the upper area.
Reservations Needed for All – You really need to take reservations for more than just parties of 6 or more. If I'm coming all the way Redmond, I want to make sure I'm going to have a table waiting (not the other way around). At least let people call when they are on their way to have name added to list and if they don't show up in the time they stated (15minutes or less), then give their table to someone else. Plain and Simple
Wonderfully Charming - Great Food – I had read some unsavory reviews about this place - unattentive staff and salty food - but I didn't experience either of those things...niether did my two friends. The menu is long with pasta and meat entrees. And there were several seafood specials the night I went. As if the portions weren't large enough, each entree comes with bread AND pasta. And you can't beat the price. For three entrees, an appetizer, a dessert (amazing tiramisu!) and 2 very generous glasses of wine - the bill was u... read more
Delectable Dishes & Lukewarm service – A lamb shank is like a newborn child: tenderness, attention and patience are all necessary ingredients in properly (b)raising your creation. If the high quality of their cooked lamb is any indication, La Rustica's merry band of culinary artists would likely rear spoiled, though well-cared for children. In our first experience at La Rustica, the Sound-side ambience was offset by some less-than spectacular service - think beaky Parisian sommelier meets SoCal stoner. However, in our most r... read more
