About this business

You're not likely to stumble across this romantic Italian restaurant accidentally since it's secluded on a residential street. But once you try something from the menu and you'll have the answer as to why the crowds pack this place. With a variety of gourmet pizzas, braised meats and flavorful pasta dishes, La Rustica is a culinary hot-spot. The view of Puget Sound from the front windows is also spectacular and only adds to the dining experience.

About time! – I've been a West Seattle resident for 22 years and just made it to La rustica for the first time. Embarassing I know. Too bad for us. We've been missing out! It was my daughter's birthday and we went as a family to celebrate. This small intimate Bistro has it all; warmth, character, great food and the portions are healthy to say the least. They served us bread on the house that was dripping in yumminess and we could hardly stay away from it. They brought us basket after basket and we joyfully threw caution to t... read more

nothing special – Dining here was nothing amazing. The atmosphere is not good, it's small, loud and the tables are squished together, a lot of them right by the cold front door and the open kitchen with its obnoxious bright lighting shining in your face. The service was slow and amateur. The food is OK. I ordered pasta with truffle oil and there was absolutely no truffle oil to be tasted. This is not a romantic spot, especially on busy night. I recommend you go a few miles away to Beato, where you will have a truly classy an... read more

What a find! – We love this restaurant. The food is great, the atmosphere is 2nd to none. You feel like your transported to a small Italian village...This is by far our favorite restaurant in Seattle (from Chicago). It has the whole package, food, atmosphere, authentic, great owner!

Rustic European Charm in deprived West Seattle – This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Seattle metropolitan area, and definitely my #1 favorite in West/South Seattle. It is small, low-key, quaint, and one of the only "incredible food" places with a true downscale (never be confused with shabby!) European feel. It's exactly like my favorite restaurants in Italy, in both cuisine & atmosphere-- there's none of the usual "Seattle yuppified" or "gosh the employees must use a lot of coke here" feel. The service is excellen... read more

Best Food on the Beach – Visited for the first time, had a wonderful time, sat outside weather was perfect. The service was great, food was tasty and everything I had heard from local folks. Will be visiting again very soon. One suggestion the Key Lime Tort is a must have.

European Bistro Atmosphere – Fabulous little Italian restaurant tucked away on Beach Ave with views of Olympic Mts and Puget Sound. The patio is packed with hanging plants and flower pots. Fountain flows in the background. Servers are fun, quirky, and professional. Food is absolutely wonderful. And prices were very good - pasta menu is between $10 and $20. Their top-end cuts of lamb and steak are closer to $27 or $28. I highly recommend this place if you want to "show off" Seattle to your out of town guests, or if you crave ... read more

One of a Kind – As a professional in the restaraunt business I know what it takes for a place to stand out. La Rustica achieves this on many levels! First and foremost the food is outstanding! I have tried a great deal on the menu and have yet to discover something I do not care for. This is surprising because I am at times...hard to please! Among my favorites are the Vitello Scampi and the Sole Piccata (offered only as a special)! If you have the chance do not pass up the Piccata! It is butterey and balanced with the tang o... read more

A warm, inviting outlet for romantic Italian dining. – In Short A hidden find, La Rustica is tucked into a residential neighborhood overlooking Puget Sound. The menu is loaded with interesting possibilities, including spaghetti with garlic, mustard greens, chicken breast and chili peppers. Lamb shank--slow-braised with olive oil, rosemary and balsamic vinegar--is a specialty. The gnocchi con salsiccia nostra are rich dumplings (made creamy with ricotta) in tomato sauce with Italian sausage and Romano. Dessert options include... read more
