Fellini's classic 1960 film La Dolce Vita, or "The Sweet Life," is the inspiration for this Little Italy restaurant. But where Fellini focuses on the alienation of modern hedonism, the restaurant of the same name wisely focuses on authentic Italian food. Much of the menu is based around daily specials of fish, risotto and pasta, among other things. More permanent entrées include polo pomodoro, chicken in white wine with tomatoes, garlic and feta cheese; or vitelo di Verona, with veal topped by tomatoes, artichokes and... read more

Highly Recommended, for Sure!!! – Whenever we visit my wife's parents in Cleveland, we always make a point to have a nice dinner and secure reservations at this restaurant. Never have we been disappointed. The only other time her parents are able to dine here is on special occasions. I guess if it's going to be a special night out, then they are sure to make reservations at this place where they know the food will never disappoint them. Whether you're looking for a vegetarian entree or some fresh fish or a great steak, this ... read more
We love the food! – My wife and I go there all the time. I disagree with the other guy. The thing is, you have to appreciate good food to know good food. A lot of people don't know what excellent Italian food is, because they're too busy looking at the price. However, you could go to Macaroni Grill if you want cheap food and get a lot with less flavor. I would rather go to La Dolce Vita and pay what they are charging to get what I want and not be disappointed. Highly recommended!
Really enjoyed it and didn't want to leave! – Cute, fun place. My wife and I really liked it. Good food, great personality of the server. Truly enjoyed it when we visited although it was pretty cold having to go back outside. Didn't want to leave!
Great experience at this restaurant – I was visiting my folks and had a really good experience at this restaurant so I thought I would send a review their way. The service was better than 99% of other restaurants I've been to, and the food was great. I can't think of anything that I wasn't happy with, so I'll give it a good five stars.
Where do I begin? – If you’re looking for an eatery at which the food and drink choices are interesting and delicious, the staff - including the owner - is charming and courteous, and the atmosphere is hip and buzzing, yet still relaxed enough that you feel free to dine at your own pace, plan a visit to La Dolce Vita. I’ve ordered from all parts of the menu…everything from the Mediterraneo Pizza topped with (among other things) roasted red peppers and smoked mozzarella, to the classic Veal “Pavarotti”, to the antipasti Eggpl... read more
AWFUL!!!! – Never eat here. I never write reviews, so you can tell how bad it was. The food was very unappetizing and poorly heated. Some of my pasta was hot while other spots were cold....same with my chicken. I don't know how they cook their food that it was uneven. I've never had a meal like that, except for microwaved food, so it makes me wonder. I started to get sick before we even left the place and my husband doesn't feel so great right now either. The service was EXTREMELY slow. We waited so long for our food to arri... read more
Horrible experience – I was somewhat insulted when I sat down and looked at the cost of the food on the menu. I've been across the street at Trattoria and Guarinos many times and we decided to try La Dolce Vita this time for a change. The food, in my opinion, didn't measure up to the other two places that I just mentioned and it cost quite a bit more. When a restaurant charges $15 for spaghetti with maranara it had better be good--and it wasn't. We waited nearly an hour for our food and I didn't even finish mine. That says a... read more
not good at all – too hot in the summer. you walk in there and start sweating. the food is alright, but Olive Garden is just the same for so much cheaper. unfortunately, i've found insects in my food numerous times. most of the servers are NASTY as well as the hostesses. not reccomended!!
Ugh - Try Elsewhere – Appetizers were OK: Caprese salad good, polenta and sausage fair. Entrees were very bad. The pasta abrezze was about the level of an Olive Garden entree. The Shrimp Risotto (special of the day) was inedible: rice undercooked, off taste to the dish, and a bad smell. Tried one bite, and left it alone. Server was nice; kitchen was slow. Skipped dessert. Check was $90. Brio or Bravo would be twice as good, at half the price. Dine elsewhere.
