What else can go wrong! – Perhaps it was the holidays, or maybe because the kitchen was short staffed, but I have never spent close to 4 hours in a restaurant with such poor service. Not only was the service slow, the waiter could not get our orders straight. First of all, a medium rare steak for burnt for the birthday boy. Then I was given sirloin when I ordered ribeye. Bad Service – This restaurant has a great atmosphere and the food was wonderful. The service was the worst I have had in a long long time! Our waiter only came to our table about 3 times the whole night, we waited and waited for everything. One meal was forgotten and we could not even flag anyone down to inquire on it. If they can get the service down it would be a wonderful place to go. Great place to take a date.
slow, lame service – Solid food, good atmosphere, and great desserts (beignets!), but the service was EXTREMELY slow. They really need to fix this!
Cajun Fun on Peninsula – Great ambience, like being in an offbeat SF restaurant, and not horrible expensive (2 people w/ wine = under $100). The dishes are mostly hits (best = scallops, teriyaki skirt steak, halibut + the excellent ahi wonton appetizer), and few misses (all off the menu now). Solid wine list (quite extensive, w/ plenty of budget selections). Can be noisy; service can be slow, but who cares?
10 stars out of 8!!! – Are all "10" reviews bogus? It sure seems that way. "Great place to take a crowd of 50 for a corporate lunch or birthday! Everything was superb! Service was great, and I'm not the busboy. Really I'm not! I don't know what that guy who gave us a 3 was talking about, the hairs in his creamed corn were appetizers! Nothing specific to Kingfish, but it gets tiresome wading through uninformative reviews.
Cool place... – This place was a bit of a surprise, it had great decor, nice waiters, even if she did get confused by our numerous orders, but overall the experience was good...food, service, ambience and prices.
Nice atmosphere! – This is a really neat place. Good for having a nice long conversation over dessert and coffee. Dinner was good but service was extremely slow. We went on a Monday night at 7 (not crowded) and didn't get out until 9! Most of the time was waiting for food. The oysters are fresh. Skirt steak and salmon were yummy.
Good food. Service could be better... – The food was very good. Nice raw bar selection. Very satisfied with everything that was ordered. The only thing is that our server was a little flakey. Nice, but flakey. Twice in the very beginning of the meal, she got my order wrong. She was very nice about it and offered to amend everything right away.
Not impressed. – Very slow service. Food was disappointing and portions were small. Atmosphere was pretty neat. Would not recommend this restaurant.
