Save room for dessert! – Great food and great service! I recommend making reservations because this place gets pretty crowded. Great place for family dinners or a night out w/ friends. Try the Cosmo, you won't regret it, but save room for dessert. To die for!
Great food and ambience – Went there with a group of six on a week night. They were busy but they have a nice bar area where we waited. Service was good and the food was excellent. Several of us had the seared tuna and it was to die for.
Wow! What are great time – A group of 25 friends and I had a party at Kingfish and it was the coolest experience ever! We had the area upstairs by the bar and we were in heaven. My friends were thrilled on the excellent looking bartenders that shook drinks as if they were in a Miami hotspot! I love Miami! THE BEST on the peninsula! – No place can even compare to Kingfish on the peninsula. It is the ultimate pro & fun restaurant! My husband and I are regular "city" diners are were shocked when we were down in San Mateo visiting friends to see such a class act outside SF. Service was unbelievably effiecient, friendly, and best of all unpretentious. Best Restaurant in the peninsula – We have dined here regularly since the opening. We have to say that this place gets better with time ! The menu is incredible, I can find anything no matter what I am craving. I especially enjoy oysters - and they are great here. My husbands goes right for the steak and we have never had a complaint. Friendly servers without being annoying. Love Kingfish!
Very Upsetting – If you like going out to eat and trying new things, go somewhere else. Had a few friends with us. The owners need to take a class on owning it seems. All the chef's were arguing with each other. The server had to keep explaining to us that our food would be late (about 45 minutes) and it wasn't even busy!!! Seems like theres no structure anywhere. Not the best place for those with food allergies – The chef got very annoyed when asked about the ingredients in the dishes which could be very problematic if you have food allergies. Was a very disappointing experience. I won't go back.
Bad Cooking with Good Ingredients – My girlfriend and I went during a trip to my hometown. We live in NYC and always look forward to dining in the bay area. We went for lunch. Nice Decor, Slow Service, Decent Food – I went in with a large party. The server seemed rushed all the time. I selected a wine, which I didn't care for much and was told that it was highly rated - as if my own taste couldn't tell me what I liked.
