Dr. Berend replaced both of my hips in the span of 10 months. The first surgery was in Aug. 2019. I had hip dysplasia that took 52 years to show up. He was very kind and explained what he was going to do. He was never condescending or unkind. When I called the office in March 2020 because I was having difficulty with my second hip, he actually talked to me on the phone. He is an exceptional surgeon. I am just 12 weeks out from having to have a partial knee joint taken out and a full put in. The first partial was perfect but I was one of the lucky 7% who had the outside of my knee go bad. Because of the amount of inflamed area that extended to the partial area he had to remove it replacing with a total. I can't tell you how good it feels to not be in pain all the time. Dr Berend did my husband's knee and hip with awesome results. Would not go to no one but him and have sent several of my friends to him. I trust him fully... read more

I had a Oxford partial left knee replacement 2011 and scheduled for right knee this August. I would highly recommend Dr. Berend and JSI in New Albnany. I have had at least 10 friends who I recommend to Dr. Berend and all have been highly satisfied and they have recommended others.

I would highly recommend Dr Berend. I had gone to eight different doctors and really did my homework. After several recommendations for Dr Berend and his less invasive hip surgery i realized he was the best out there i travelled from cleveland to get the surgery I was able to travel back home the same day and walk up steps without any pain it has now been a year since my surgery and I have been able to get my life back i would definitely go back to Dr Berend

Dr. Berend was a Godsend at a time of constant hip pain. He eas confident, reassuring, swift and 100% on target for relieving my hip pain!

I chose Dr Barend because of his low complication rate and the high number of knee replacements he does each year. His bedside manner is quick; most of the face to face is with his Physician Assistant. But I was interested in a doc who was technically proficient - warm and social was not important to me. Surgery and rehab went well. I was off narcotics in 10 days and driving after two weeks. Six months out I am pain free and fully mobile. I am 70 yrs old.

Dr. Berend replaced my left hip in 2009. I was suprised how quickly I was up and walking. Little to no pain and back to doing activities very quickly. Returned to Dr. Berend this year and he replaced the right hip. As before, the surgury went smoothly and I'm back to working around the farm and pain free. Staff and facility are all very friendly and helpful.
