Great Atmopshere and Food... – I have been to Katana several times in the past few years and have always been blown away. However, after dining there this weekend I left very disappointed. The food was amazing as usual but our server seemed very distracted and uncomfortable. The server uniforms on the patio were very distateful and seemed to down play the classy atmosphere in the main dining area.
REAL Sushi/Sashimi Lover – If you are real sushi/sashimi lover, and also happened to like trendy Hollywood restaurant, this is a good one for you. When I say real sushi/sashimi lover, it means no CA roll, no crunch roll bs. I think they have those but I don't even think those are the real sushi. Get the Sushi! – I've eaten here twice and had some of the best sushi I've ever had! I reccomend the crunchy tuna roll and the california tempura roll, totally awesome! The really pushy waitress though was totally bent on me and my date getting the Robata, which does not seem all that appealing to me. Paying an exhorbitant price for little pieces of gilled beef or chicken served on sticks, no thanks. Do yourself a favor and get the sushi I reccomended, you won't be disappointed.
Good scene- the sushi's okay – This place is pretty good, it's always packed on the weekends. However the problem is that service is kind of slow and the food is just average for the price....
Love this restaurant! – If you want the experience, you'll find it here. The menu is extensive and the food amazing. But let's face it, this isn't the 90s. A restaurant is no longer just about the food. The staff were courteous and informed but the the crowd also deserves credit, they really made the night.
Phenom – After reading all the excellent reviews on Katana, I recently went for the first time and fell in love. It is a strikingly beautiful restaurant. The vibe doesnt get any better. It definitely has a scene and is trendy, but yet it still feels intimate. The food is excellent. I had several of the different skewers. Good For a try – Price is for the sit and not for the food. Sushi was not that special but robata was unique... Very nice interior job and staffs were very friendly but kindda slow... Good place for a nice dinner out but parking's pricccccyyyyyyyy too!!!

PHENOMINAL...plain and simple – I take clients out for a living. I have been to almsot every good spot in LA. I say that Katana (including both cuisine and decor) is one of the best in Los Angeles. Who would complain about having to wait 30 minutes for a table when the clientele looks as good as they do? Not to mention, the bar is 10 feet away!!! And the food...the food is EXCELLENT!
