Beautiful hostesses and great food. What more can a body ask!!! – I have to say that I enjoy eating at Katana whenever I am in town (about once each month). The food is great!!! I am especially impressed by the head hostess on weekends. She is friendly but professional. I feel as though I am just as important as the so called Divas who come through the door. All of your hostesses and your wait staff are professional and friendly. I will continue to return over and over again. Thanks, Katana for making my evenings so special.
Wanna-Be hotspot – I used to eat at Katana a couple nights a week. The staff has completely changed within the past 5 months. Since this change, the service has been HORRIBLE! The hostesses are wanna-be's much like the new clientele. This restaurant is on it's way out. The atmosphere has declined, although the food has been consistently good. They need to adjust into a service oriented company. Remove the attitude and cater to the client. They should take a lesson from some higher end restaurants.
best japanese food in la – What a great place...The most beautiful hostesses I have ever seen...............even though you might wait 20 minutes for a table with a reservation.......everything from the food and the service is great........one thing to watch out you need reservation just to valet park............try to get a seat on the patio.............I will be back
GREAT FOOD! Impeccable Service!!! LOVE IT!!! – I was visiting LA recently and decided to grab some dinner with my family at Katana! What a great idea! The atmosphere is great, the robata grilled items, and sushi were divine! The service was prompt and our waitress was on top of things. Awesome: Excellent Special Occasion Restaurant!!! – I took my mother for her 50th birthday about a week and still have not stopped raving about it. There preselected choices are awesome. The lobster is awesome! We were late for our reservation and they still were able to accomdate our needs.
Food =good, service=bad – Is this really the "in scene" anymore? The food is always good, but the service is so awful. 10,000 sushi places in L.A., pick another one without the attitude!
Food was okay, service was BEYOND terrible.... – Where do I begin??? My reservation was delayed for an hour, and when I finally got seated, the waitress didn't come over for another half hour... The entire time, the waitress ignored our table, our food took forever to arrive, and some of my friends had to wait another half hour for their food after everybody else had already finished their dinner. delicious food....stupid service – Great food if you can ever get seated! We had an 8pm reservation. We weren't seated until almost 10 pm. Nothing can make up for that. The sushi is great....but its great at other places that will also treat you better. You can spot celebrities if that is your thing....but I only find that annoying. Decent service once you are seated, but the prices are outrageous and I can think of 10 better restaurants to spend your time at and money on!
consistently great sush and robata bar – If you want very, very good sushi, Katana is remarkably consistent. It's a scene, particularly on weekends, and the hostesses, who act as if they're prima donnas, display an obnoxious attitude at times, particularly if you don't have a reservation. However, get past all of that and you'll have an amazing dinner. Lots of pretty people clamoring to dine here. Don't miss the lobster roll.
