second place? wow – kanki is a joke, service is great and so is the atmosphere, but the most important part is lacking, the food. The hibachi is nothing to be impressed about and the sushi is just so so. I would rather go and eat at a place like Tokyo House and not get the show of the hibachi or even will sacrifise the food.
Better deals and food around the corner. – There is only one word I can think of when I think of Kanki. HOW. How do they stay in business when the food is so expensive and taste so bad. The sushi is far from fresh, and the seafood they serve on the grill is of cheap quality. SO why is it so expensive?? It's not the chefs fault, but the quality of the food they serve is horrible. But I have to give them credit it is nice inside, but apperance can in no way make up for the food...
A Nice Sushi Experience – The Kanki has always been very good ! we enjoy the atmosphere. the newly remodeled sushi bar and dining area is very nice (we always get sushi too..never go into the cooking area). the sushi has always been fresh and portions are very adequate. note if you order sashime, you get a lot but pay an extra $3.95 i believe. I find their crunchy roll to be one of their best rolls. And it is fun to go because you are in the mall already! enjoy
amazing sushi – I have been to many Sushi restaurants and Kanki is the best Sushi in NC period. The atmosphere is awesome and the Sushi is mouth watering good. I highly recommend this to every who loves Sushi. Do your tatsebuds a favor and stop in for Sushi at Kanki.
Slip Sliding Away? – Since moving to Raleigh about 7 years ago, I've been a regular at Kanki. Until recently. While the decor has improved, the last two meals there have been disappointing. Both times, the luck of the draw assigned us to inexperienced chefs -- and the food had a bland, everything-tastes-the-same quality. I can only hope our next experience (after 7 years, I don't give up easily -- even at their slightly inflated prices) is more positive. If it is, you can bet I'll jump on the chance to give 'em a pat on the ... read more
My favorite place to be!! – Kanki has delicious food, great service and an amazing atmosphere. I have been a regular for years and have never had a bad experience. They consistently serve wonderful Japanese cuisine and sushi. It is my absolute fave!! Keep up the good work!!!
Congratulations – Good Job Kanki! Best sushi in the triangle by far! I've been a regular for years. Keep up the good work.
Not Worth the Money – This is a chop-it-up-toss-the-shrimp-in-the-hat kind of Japanese restaurant. Unfortunately, the last three time we have eaten there, the chefs seemed as if they really wanted to be somewhere else. Not the quality of "show" that justifies the price for what would otherwise be a marginal-quality meal. And DEFINITELY not one of the top ten restaurants in the Triangle. Try "Fins" if you want an outstanding meal!
Went the extra mile – The folks here are great; I've eaten here many times, but on my most recent occasion the lady manager went the extra mile to make the guests at our table happy. They were having trouble communicating with the chef about their meal. The manager stayed at the table until they were satisfied and we were all able to enjoy our dinner! I'll be back! Congrats Kanki! Good Job.
