I was fortunate to have Dr. Lopez and the staff at TGH for my parathyroid surgery on5/3/23. He removed two parathyroid glands, and had to work around some old scar tissue from a prior cervical fusion. Post of day 4, and other than some resolving bruising, it looks great! Dr Lopez performed my Parathyroidectomy on Wednesday, 5/3/2023. I was blown away by his bedside manner, care, warmness and did I say care? So very impressed with all of the staff from the Receptionist to all of the nurses that took care of me (10), the Anesthesiologist who met with me prior to surgery, the diagnostic team who did my scan. Dr Lopez performed my surgery at the Tampa General Hospital Healthplex. This facility is a surgery center on steroids. Nursing staff went above board in making my wife and myself feel comfortable. Preop prep and Post op recovery was well staffed. All personnel who interacted with me were upbeat with great personalities. My whole experience at this facility flowed seamlessly. So pleased with the warmth and efficiency of Dr López and his staff. I flew from Colorado to Tampa in order to receive top notch care. I was not disappointed. As it turned out my surgical needs included the removal of 3.5 of my parathyroid glands. Dr Lopez handled this more unique situation like the true expert that he is. The ENT surgeon I consulted in Colorado offered much less experience and much less successful surgical outcomes. I am so grateful that I found Dr López online!!!
Dr. Lopez removed my thyroid in February of 2022. My thyroid was so enlarged it had adhered to my vocal cord nerves. Dr. Lopez was able to completely remove my thyroid as well as reattach my nerves and ultimately prevented any disability or voice loss. My calcium levels were through the roof. My doctor recommended parathyroid surgery and that led me to Dr. Lopez. I have never had surgery before, so I was very nervous about the entire process. Dr. Lopez was the most professional, caring doctor I have been to. From the time I scheduled the zoom consultation (thank you, Jazmine) with Dr. Lopez to the final surgery day, my overall experience was wonderful! Dr. Lopez was very informative and told me what to expect with surgery (before, during and after) - he definitely put me and my husband at ease. Parathyroid and Thyroidectomy surgery Dr Lopez did my parathyroid surgery and while at it found a nodule in my thyroid and had it removed, the pathology report came back to being malignant and he reached me and gave me a choice to accommodate and recommended total thyroidectomy which ended up being the right decision.
