Dr Valdes is by far one of the best doctors I have ever met in my almost 70 years on this planet??

I am from NY and this was my first meeting with Dr. Valdez following a injury to my foot. The receptionist (Janice ?) iwas very welcoming.. Dr. Valdez identified the problem immediately and pointed out a problem I was not aware of another problem concerning both feet. The exercises he demonstrated are correcting the problem. As for the original problem, the foot is almost 100% better. He is a very caring physician who takes the time necessary to explain the problem and the course of treatment
Dr. Valdes has a great "chairside" manner. I would highly recommend him.
I am very disappointed that Dr. Valdes requires for me to pay 100% of the visit, even though my insurance covers 80%. I was told that the visit is $175, but despite my deductible being met, he would still bill me the total amount and also bill the insurance. (He gets paid twice). I do not understand the reason, but I consider this to be a very unfair and greedy practice. I cannot afford to pay the insurance's portion (Which I am NOT responsible for), so I had no choice but to cancel.
Business response:
The office policy is that payment of deductible (patients responsibility) be collected at the time the service. Mr. Melvin's insurance claimed that the deductible WAS NOT met therefore patients responsibility is due after the patients being treated. This patient was never stepped in our office let alone treated so I feel its very unfair to post a review without giving us a chance to help him.
