Nice to have a vet open when you need one We found out about West Charleston Animal clinic after taking our new puppy there for her initial checkup and shots. Our first visit, we found out that there were no appointments necessary, nor extra charges for walk ins, we were estactic. We live 120 miles from Las Vegas, a 2 hour drive, and it is really hard, when you bring your pet for an emergency. The hours are fabulous and I've never had any problem with the staff. Good place turned not so great I took my dog here when they first opened. The receptionists were friendly and the boarding was satisfactory. I was not happy with the boarding as of recently. The staff was not as friendly or helpful, and did not make me feel reassured that my dog would be safe and well loved in their care. I left and took him to another boarding facility and vet.
MONEY HUNGRY VOULCHERS DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS TO THIS CLINIC!!!! I took my dog there because she had some vomiting, and after keeping her overnight and claiming they did all types of tests, which I never saw the results of, Dr. Warnus said to take her home, give her Pepcid (for which they charged me $35 dollarsfor one dose) and feed her chicken and rice. All this for almost $500 dollars! He called me the next day to say her urine had crystals and she needed more tests & a special prescription C/D diet (Hills Science Diet).... read more
Way overpriced,1800.00 bill with no warning!!! I took my cat in and after some tests while I waited, I was told that he has diabetes and would need to stay in the hospital for several days for nutrition, fluids, and to get regulated on insulin. I asked how much the vet bill might be and the vet said about 1000.00! I was shocked but I have had my cat for 11 years and he would be fine once regulated. I am so grateful I'm not sure who is writing these reviews but from my experiences I can only assume that they are not true. They have always treated me and my 4-legged family members with the utmost respect and compassion. I am so grateful that West Charleston Vet is here to help us when we need it.
I would HIGHLY recommend this establishment!!! I had to take my dog in to see Dr Jones due to the mailman hit him and left. I can not tell you how upset, scared, and worried I was that my best friend was unable to use any of his body. We walked in, no apt, and they took us in like we had been there before. Unfortunatly they had to call a day later to tell me that my beloved pup passed away. With in a few days I had received a card in the mail from Dr. Jones and some of the staff saying how sorry they were....GREAT people! A ... read more
Jones Gregory DVM - West Charleston Animal Hosp is Dr. Jones is very incompetent and forgetful and has also been very rude to me. My animal was seriously misdiagnosed and fortunately I had the instinct to get a second opinion. Now my dog is happy and well. Dr. Jones needs to go back to school and learn how to be civil and respectful to his clients.
Very good experience I had a very good experience with this vet. My cat had gotten into the garden and eaten some flowers and began throwing up all over the place. I rushed her down to the vet and was greeted very warmly by the front desk girls. Velvet and I were taken into a room and seen by Dr Jones. He was very sympathetic and took very good care of Velvet. They gave her some fluids and medication, and she was right as rain. Very happy with the entire experience.
