West Charleston Animal Hosp It's funny, because when I wanted to bring my cat in during the night for vomiting, the doctor said just to keep an eye on him becuase he didn't want ot be bothered and my regular doctor was out of town so I took him to the animal emergency center and now thank Goodness my cat got the proper care he needed and is OK. West charleston is full of lies!!!!!

- West Charleston Animal Hosp is the worst I've spoken to many people that have had bad experiences here, especially with Doctor Jones(inexperienced and money hungry). He's ok for minor problems or vaccinations but not seriously ill animals. A few people mentioned that there is a Board of Veterinary Examiners where you can send a complaint. I'm seriously considering it. WWW.NVVETBOARD.US 4600 Kietzke Lane, Bldg. O-265, Reno, Nevada, 89502 Phone: (775)688-1788 . Fax: (775)688-1808 vetbdinfo@vetboard.nv.gov

a money drainer I have spent thousands of dollars here over a years' worth of time for my dogs and all they did was take and take and I never got any kind of info when they took the same tests over and over and kept on charging me. Dr. Jones never showed me any of their test results and I trusted him. Well, I learned my lesson. I don't even know if he took half the tests that I paid for. I feel like I was ripped off. I see another vet now that loves and cares for my dogs and shows me the results of any tests she takes and gi... read more

Great Vet! I and my dogs love this place. Usually my dogs are really picky (a chihuahua and a terrier) about who they are handled by, but they love everyone at this clinic. They always are cared for quickly and all my questions get answered. The clinic is clean and always there whenever I need them, even at 3am when the dogs have gotten into something they shouldn't and throw up everywhere. Great vet!

Be Careful Did you have proof that your dog had cancer? Did you see actual test results? My dog was diagnosed with cancer with an uncertainty of how long she would live and without test results and Dr. Jones was ready to operate even though she was so weak. I took her to another vet and she doesn't have cancer at all. I was also told she had a big mass in her abdominal area which she did not. A few months down the road, a small abscess was found attached to her colon and was removed and was also benign. Don't let them fool y... read more

Very Rude and Uncaring As some of the other reviews have said, this doctor is very rude and only wants your money. My cat was very sick from getting into some peace lilies and I was worried how bad it really was (some lilies can be fatal). Dr. Jones said it would cost $600 and I told him I'd need to think it over and call him back. He proceeded to actually say, "Lets do us both a favor and not be up at 4 am about this." MY CAT COULD DIE! I don't care if I'm up at 4 am! Maybe you shouldn't have a 24 hr emergency clinic if thi... read more

Trustworthy Trustworthy and thorough is what comes to mind when I think of my extended family at West Charleston! Biscuit the cat was very sick and Dr. O'neal immediately got to the bottom of it and walked me through every step of the way. I had never had an animal go into surgery so when I dropped Biscuit off I was a mess and Bernie and the West Charleston team comforted me and kept me posted. Biscuit ended up not having to have the surgery because he passed the stones but again Dr. O'neal was very thorough by doing an ultr... read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! We have bringing our pets to West Charleston for 2 years now. They have always been friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Our animals are definitely part of our family and the cost is never too much for the high quality care we have gotten here. Last month, our shih tzu began vomiting and the doctor came in at 1 am to help her. Turns out, she had eaten one of my children's toy and it was stuck in the stomach, not allowing food to pass. They took her into surgery immediately to remove it and she is now a happy,... read more

Bosco the dog I have been at this location many times, the Doctors are wonderful. The office help has good days and bad days...they could be a little more friendly and not so "snappy" at times. I thought about changing VET'S becuz of the office staff, but I like the VET'S so much I stay. The pills are a bit clostly also. I asked for a written precription and do it online for much cheaper.
