Dr Johnson is the Best! I have been seeing Dr. Johnson at Van Aken for several years and she has treated all of my cats and dogs with love every time. I would trust Dr. Johnson with any of my animals without hesitation. She has always treated them with the best possible care and concern. She has always been wonderful to me as well. I believe with all my heart that she the best vet I have ever been to and trust her completely!
Original owner That is too bad that the VanAken Pet Hospital has gotten so bad. My uncle owned this hospital for 30 years and sold it 29 years ago. My uncle is now 89 and I am sure he would be appaled at its' condition. My uncle worked there 7 days a week and 10 to 12 hours a day. He would even take animals home with him that no one wanted. I am glad I read this as I was going to go take pictures of it for him. He dedicated his life to that hospital and VanAken is my uncle's last name and no wonder they kept it the same name... read more
The best as far as I'm concerned Okay, I don't understand all the negative comments concerning Van Aken's. I've been bringing my dogs there since 1977, so for over 30 years and have NEVER had any reason to complain. I've trusted the lives and health of 7 dogs to them. The staff has always been kind, friendly and helpful. As for the Dr, I cannot say anything but the best things about her. not good at all Van Aken hospital is horrible in the way they treat people. When I brought our two cats in to get spayed- they wanted us to get our cats vaccinated. I told her we did that at the humane society. Then the doctor asked if I had my records, I told her not with me... I am not sure if she assumed I was lying because then the doctor preceeded to say. You know if they don't ACTUALLY have their rabies shots and bite a kid then they are gonna have to get their heads chopped off to be tested for rabies... I was HORRIFI... read more
Don't let Suzanne perform surgeries on your pet I don't recommend the place. The office is trashy. I lost my pet due to Dr Suzanne surgery. The way she and her staff broke the news was so unprofessional. Before the surgery Suzanne and her staff were very convincing that my dog needed surgery and it seemed like they care. Once finding out my dog passed away, Suzanne and the office treated the incident as if it was nothing. I received no calls and had to find out the news by showing up at the office. Spay & Neutering Lower cost and quality care for spaying and neutering your four-legged children. Vets and staff are wonderful! They are caring, kind, and curtious. Same day service on spaying and neutering as well as vaccinations.
Good Business I was referred to Vanaken by a friend of mine who had used their services before. They took wonderful care of my dog. The place was immaculate, and the vet is really caring. I was told by another vet that my dog would need all sorts of expensive surgery, and when I took him to Vanakens for a second opinion, I found out that was NOT the case. Thanks Vanaken.
The Van Aken Butcher - Suzanne Johnsen On 1-25-08 my 8 month old Chihuahua Hamlet was neutered/butchered at Van Aken by Suzanne Johnsen. Luckily Hamlet received medical care from a competent vet in time and we were able to save his life. Suzanne Johnsen lied about what caused the problem. Dog gone good deal! We took our dog to Vanaken to be spayed. They did it the same day and it was cheaper than other vets! They are truely passionate about animals and it shows! The staff is helpful and the place is spotless!
