Very disappointing and concerning experience. When we got home and opened the boxes of Nord chicken/poulet and beef poulet bough in this store, we were shocked to find them infested with ants. There were a lot of ants inside the boxes, including the type that can bite/sting. This is extremely concerning from a cleanliness, hygiene, and food-storage perspective. I had a very bad experience at this store and I am extremely concerned about the food safety standards. First of all, many of the products I was looking for did not have an expiry or best-before date clearly indicated, I asked the staff about it and they also were not able to give me an answer. Even more concerning, almost all of the food I bought either tasted strange or appeared to be spoiled, and I had to throw most of it away. For those who appreciate Portuguese food and some other regional cuisines, Talho is a great option in the St. Clair West area to buy cured meats, fish, meats, fruits and vegetables, and other items. The store isn't huge, but it's a good size and has a great variety of food, with prices that aren't outrageous, considering the Canadian dollar exchange rate and not currency conversions.
