This is the only commercial airport in Orange County, situated 35 miles to the south of Los Angeles. It has two runways and parking space for over 7,500 vehicles. Over nine million passengers avail of its services each year, and over 20,000 tons of air cargo is handled here. Three commuter, 11 commercial and two all-cargo airlines operate from the airport too.

I would take flying into John Wayne over LAX no questions asked even if it cost me a little more. This airport is super convienent easy to fly into and fly out of and Rent-A-Car at the airport. Highly recommend this awesome airport!
Its always been a pleasant experience at this airport for me, never too crowded or long lines, the few times I have travel to and from the area everything has been good for me at SNA. I'm a frequent traveler (twice a week) and never had a reason to complain at this airport. 🙂
Easy access, not crowded.
Was treated wonderfully from beginning to end. I used Southwest Airlines my favorite airline.
So much easier to get in and out of than LAX. Right there in the middle of it all!
RecommendedI love the layout of this airport. Things are convenient and the people polite. it's so much better than LAX if you're going to SoCal!
I needed assistance with a wheelchair and the staff was amazing and lined up the ones that both of my connecting flights :-) very very happy with that!
For a smaller airport, it was pleasantly easy to navigate and had plenty of food options. More personal than LAX as well as getting there!!! Going to that area, the best option.
