Dr. Neilson sat with my husband and me to explain how he was going to repair the damage I had so that I could walk again. Six days later I went into surgery and everything went according to the plan. Fifteen hours after leaving recovery I walked again with the aid of a walker. Seven weeks post-op and I can now walk a mile with the help of a cane. Dr. Neilson is truly an amazing surgeon. Thank you for giving me back my life!
TKA has a reputation for being the most painful surgery there is. I went in there very nervous. And then it was done! The anesthesia team said they would take care of my nervousness and they sure did. Dr Neilson did not rush right into surgery. At my first visit Dr Neilson said my bicycling had given me such well developed leg muscles that we should try other treatments first. When those treatments failed we did surgery. The Xrays show a perfect alignment
Dr Neilson and his staff took time to listen to my concerns and answer all my questions prior to surgery which helped me know what to expect and ease my decision making. The hip replacement surgery went very smoothly and the outcome was great.
