Highly recommended by a ER RN at GBMC on whose son he operated. Nurses are often the best source of info about physicians. Professional, knowledgeable, serious, thorough but does not waste time. Excellent recovery following inguinal hernia surgery that did not require narcotics to control pain. Shows concern, but not the type to hold your hand - which works fine for me. His scheduler, Lizette, is a delight and easy to work with. Would recommend Turner as a general surgeon for my family.
Dr. Turner messed my digestive tract up while doing a nissen fundoplication on me back in 2016. I have undergone 4 more surgeries since then. My most recent one was major, i had to have my esophagus removed due to the damage done by Dr. Turner. I am 21 years old, and have undergone 3 open chest surgeries because of picking a poor surgeon for my first nissen fundoplication. No body deserves to have to go through this, please choose wisely when considering this surgeon.
Dr Joel Turner, was very nice and easy to talk to about my upcoming surgery, I was scared to pieces, he explained the procedure to me, I then scheduled my surgery about 3 weeks out. The day came for my Thyroidectomy, and Dr Turner talked to my husband and I about the outcome. I was ready! His team of nurses were very cheerful as I was wheeled into the room, and soon after I don't remember a thing! , I told Dr Turner, I couldn't believe it was that easy! I highly recommend Dr Joel Turner!
Dr. Turner came highly recommended to me by other patients. I had the same inguinal hernia repaired twice in the past by 2 different surgeons without success (not fun). Dr. Turner got it right, very easy outpatient surgery (used mesh) and I am back to 100% now. I am very grateful and can't say enough good thinks about Dr. Turner and his staff other then "perfect".
I don't hope for needed surgery but Dr. Turner is who I would turn to if I did.
Dr. Turner was wonderful, very knowledgeable regarding the surgery I needed and was able to explain in lay terms what to expect post-op. I would not hesitate to recommend his services.
