I wanted to give you and update on my recovery status. This past 3-day weekend i participated in a tri-athalon of sorts. I started out going on a 2 hour hike/walk then biked 10 miles to get back to my house and finished up with a swim in our pool. So as you can imagine, I am feeling a bit better. My Dr. Steck is the best in Tucson. I've had 61 surgery's due to OA so I should know an excellent Surgeon when I have one.I have been his patient since I fell in Nov. '18 & broke my ankle.He has done two surgeries for me & NO one else will ever touch me.
Dr Steck was amazing to my 15 year old son and his ankle injury. Highly recommend him!!!
Dr. Steck seemed very nice BUT after supposedly fixing my foot problems and I kept going back telling him there was something seriously wrong because I was in more pain than before seeing him, he just kept saying there was nothing wrong and I should give it time. He said 6 months to recoup - it's been two years and the pain just keeps getting worse. I saw another podiatric surgeon who told me what the problems were and why - something he did and they were amazed he didn't warn me ahead of time.
I have been a patient of Dr.Steck for over 2 years. I have Charcot which destroyed my mid foot and ankle bone. Another surgeon rebuilt my mid foot and Dr. Steck rebuilt my ankle. He is knowledge and caring. There is often a long wait to see him but that's because he takes his time with his patients. He always made sure I understood the current issues. He also has a good sense of humor. I'd recommend him to anyone.
I will NOT recommend Dr Steck to anyone. He operated on my foot he made it far worse and more painful than it was when I came to see him. When I brought this to his attention following surgery, he said he had done all that he can and referred me to another doctor. In my opinion, he simply took the money and walked away without any concern for the well being of the patient. I am still in great pain. My recommendation is that the AZ Medical Board revoke his license so he does not harm anyone else
After years of working with an ankle injury from an old accident Dr. Steck completed an ankle replacement this past summer. I spent the last 9 months speaking to physicians at TOI and the University about my injury and the best solutions and plan came from Dr. Steck and his team. I strongly recommend those with ankle issues to have a sit down with Dr. Steck and see if a solution can be found.
