This dentist was to pull 2 teeth. First he wanted to give me gas, I asked if he had a CRNA or someone ceritified to do this he told me he did this often. So to me that was a no. I told him to just give me the shots, but i needed more than "normal" people. He showed his frustration with me about this matter. Then when he pulled my first tooth, I told him I could feel and i need to get one more shot not to feel. He told me I was numb. Dr. Gitelman was brusque, impatient, hostile, and entirely unwilling to explain the risks of a procedure in a meaningful way. I have no doubt that his technical skills are impressive -- he came highly recommended -- but he did not reassure me, and I would not recommend him to any patient who is serious about understanding the risks of a procedure before choosing to undergo it.

Glanced at my throbbing gum very briefly and asked why I didn't have Xrays (which his secretary had told me on the phone were unecessary to bring in). Advised me to return with the Xrays for a future appointment. Charged me $65 - knowing I had no insurance - for this "consult" which lasted approximately 1 minute.

My initial consultation to have my wisdom teeth removed went well. The doctor reccomended and IV sedation and I signed an agreement saying that would be done. I was also quoted a price. When I arrived for surgery I was very nervous. The receptionist told me I would only be receiveing novicane. I told her about the agreement and she said there wasn't paperwork for one in my file. Dr. Gitelman removed 4 of my wisdom teeth. I experienced tremendous pain as I developed 2 dry sockets in my bottom sockets. The cost was average. The hygienists and front desk staff are not particularlay friendly or helpful.

Results were good, thats all that really mattered to me. quick recovery as well, gotta like that.

I was referred to Dr. Gitelman for an extraction of 2 wisdom teeth. I was fine with Dr. Gitelman's professionalism and his staff were courteous. My extractions went perfectly and although the review of POSSIBLE complications were alarming at first, it is what any office must review. The idea of rating ANY office as relaxing is absurd. Who goes to an oral surgeon's office and is pleasantly relaxed? I was anxious about my surgery and Dr. Gitelman had great chairside manner. Facilities clean but pretty spartan; small office; surgeon does not spend a lot of time with you in consultation -- in fact was pretty brusque and business-like. If I had more time to investigate further I probably would not have chosen this surgeon, but the procedure was done correctly and with little pain.

Dr. Gitelman extracted all four of my wisdom teeth, one of which was impacted. I was extremely anxious beforehand, but the procedure was nowhere near as bad as I feared. Dr. Gitelman and was kind, calm, professional and highly capable from start to finish. I recommend him without hestitation.
