The most sincere and talented salon – EVERYONE at Janet Rufin's Parlor is sincere and personable, a rareity in NYC. They take the time to tell you what will work on your hair's texture, color, etc., and what would go best with your face, skin tone and lifestyle. I'm always happy with the haircuts and highlights I've had there and would recommend JRP for anyone with ideas of their own or those who could use some suggestions.

Lousy haircolor – I'm an out of towner, made an app. w/Janet and nothing extraordinary happened, she was just OK, I wasn't completely satisfied with the dimensional color she advertises I've been in better places

HOW COOL IS KAREN? – I GET MY HAIR COLORED BY THE COOLEST GIRL I KNOW, KAREN. SHE'S GOT THE WILLIAMSBURG CHIC WITH THE MANHATTAN SKILL!!! SHE IS DEFINATLY THE BEST HAIRDRESSER EVER!! I GET MY HAIR DYED SUPER LIGHT BLONDE, BUT WITH KAREN IT LOOKS SO NATURAL. PEOPLE ARE SHOCKED WHEN I SAW IT'S NOT MY NATURAL COLOR!!! I LOVE IT!! (ALSO CHECK OUT VERONICA FOR YOUR HAIR CUT!)

Janet saved my hair!!! – I started going to Janet about 1 1/2 years ago. My hair colour was a mess, and my hair was incredibly unhealthy. Janet truly saved my hair, and I wouldn't trust anyone else. My highlights are amazing, and my hair is the healthiest it's ever been since I started highlighting it years ago. User review by marushka64 – i am letting my hair grow, it seems flat, straight. i went in thinking i might want a permanent. i had a consultation with mary who thought a perm was unnecessary if i cut my hair in layers. i made an appt for the next day. first, i had a wonderful shampoo, deep and relaxing. then mary cut my hair, left the length but layered it. i actually had waves of my own. looks great and i am happy. it is pricey to have a hair cut there, though they do an excellent job. i highly recommend the salon.

supercuts quality – This was one of the most horrifying experiences of my life. I had a hair coloring apt. there and the results were average. However, Before I left I decided to get a bang trim. Worst idea ever. The woman that cut my bangs cut them all off on one side and on the other side of my face cut them on an angle. I have a long oval face, so they just look horrible on my face. I left and broke down crying in the street. There are so many better places in a city full of upscale

Excellent highlights and haircut! – Great salon...Janet is a wonderful stylist and has a personality to match. You'll enjoy getting your hair cut, colored, or highlighted at this very ny salon, but not with the ny prices!

Could not have been happier! – Over time I have certainly put my hair through alot, (processing, etc) and it was certainly showing. Karen took the time to evaluate what would be the best approach in not only bringing me to the color I wanted but also advising me with conditioning and reccomending the best cut to minimize my damage. I could not have left happier, and I would strongly encourage you to make an appointment, you won't be dissapointed!
