Everyone - from the doctors, nurses, patient care associates, to the volunteers and the staff people who do the scheduling - are kind, compassionate, efficient, and make you feel like you are their only patient. They truly give you the best possible care at the James. They have saved my life and have become like my family.
I was talked into a procedure which even insurance deemed "non-essential" after the fact. Still haven't recovered from the procedure. I hope there's not permanent damage. Surgeon and staff are not personable and keep you waiting for long periods. Get a second opinion before going here.
Top notch surgeon (Dr. Merritt), and top notch staff. I told a lady in the levator, that if I was around people like that consistently, that my whole attitude on humanity would have to change! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We had a student that walked us back to the James, because we were lost. We were just asking directions, and she took the time to "just walk us there" to the door. My Dad had a lobectomy, and is doing very well.
