Definitely a go-to spot for out of town guests seeking Southern Comfort food. Went to brunch on Saturday after stroll through Farmers Market with our out-of-towners which included 11-month old baby. Way too much food. Fried Chicken and waffles - breading too thick and not particularly tasty. There were 5 of us and no alcohol. Tab was over $120 without tip. Been to restaurant half doz times. Convenient location but not our fav.
The restaurant setting is beautiful. We went there for breakfast on Sunday afternoon. The food was mediocre, at best. My pancakes were cold. It wasn't very busy but the server wasn't very attentive. Just ok, definitely not great!
The food is great. The hostess two days in a row was so rude. Really makes for a terrible experience. I've never had someone make me feel so unwelcome in a restaurant. I would like to come back, however if she is the one seating people I will probably walk out the door.
Stopped in yesterday for lunch and had the fried chicken with fries on their happy hour menu. It was so good. It's hard to come by good fried chicken that's cooked perfectly. They also had BBQ pork sliders that also looked good. Their dinner menu looked great, definitely going to come back and try that soon
The food was very good, but the service was AWFUL. Our waiter took ten minutes to bring us water and didn't stick around long enough to get our drink order! We did the majority of our ordering through the manager. Safe to say, we've had our fill of Jackson 20.
Great menu and excellent service. Particularly loved the mustard BBQ sauce that came with the beef brisket.
Went for brunch, the food was overpriced and just okay (really dry), the coffee was burnt, and the service was horrible. Drinks were constantly empty. Had to keep flagging down the waiter, and he had us separate our own check when we weren't a large party ...he was just lazy. I'll go to another place in Alexandria that knows how to treat customers.
Nice ambience for institutional food. Our breakfasts arrived lukewarm and the food was quite bland. The hash browns appeared to have been cooked in a large sheet and then cut for an individual plate- probably reheated. The service was ok but my order was not delivered as ordered- wrong toast. The best part of the meal was the coffee.
The service was slow. My drink was empty a few times and had to ask more than once for soda. The bread on the portobello sandwich was dry but the mushrooms and the French fries were amazing!!!
