Emerging from the alcoholic waves of post-Prohibition activity, Jack Fry's tavern opened up way back in 1933. Mr. Fry closed the original incarnation of the restaurant in 1972 and it changed hands for a few years until it re-opened with the same moniker in 1987. The new owner (a former waitress at old Jack's) still pays homage to the man with his old horse racing pictures and other sports memorabilia hanging on the walls. Fabulous Consistent Lovely The Best Louisville is very lucky
Service was better than the food, which says a ton because the food was outstanding. The soup of the day, a fall stew, might have been the best soup I've ever eaten. I tried the shrimp and grits as well as the fried chicken sandwich, both were balanced very well and delicious. Last, the monkey bread and ice cream was too much to finish, but well worth the extra calories! Thanks for a great experience!
Fantastic meal... wonderful service! Loved the escargot and snapper. Lee was extremely attentive to our every need! Loved it!
