Emerging from the alcoholic waves of post-Prohibition activity, Jack Fry's tavern opened up way back in 1933. Mr. Fry closed the original incarnation of the restaurant in 1972 and it changed hands for a few years until it re-opened with the same moniker in 1987. The new owner (a former waitress at old Jack's) still pays homage to the man with his old horse racing pictures and other sports memorabilia hanging on the walls. Went there on a Trip Advisor recommendation. We were greeted with a warm welcome with no reservation. Our waiter also welcomed us and went through all the drinks, food and specials menu. The burrata and the Pork steak special was just perfect. Table service and detailed cutlery change was without fault. Live music added to the experience. Would definitely reccomend and visit again.
Visting from out of town for husband's birthday. Absolutely wonderful service and even better food! I had the beef filet, which was to die for, and my husband had the duck! Both were amazing dishes! We finished our meal with a vanilla bean cake! We will be traveling back to Louisville soon just to eat here again!
We have been to Jack Fry's several times. The service is excellent and We have never had a bad meal there. Jack Fry's is my favorite Restaurant in Louisville. The only negative is that it is small inside but well worth that inconvenience.
Bartender wasn't polite. Mom's fried oysters was just fried dough. Jack ass bartender, jack ass food. Boom ! �� out!
