One of many offshoots of the original Ivar's Acres of Clams, the Salmon House represents the Seattle institution's attempt at contemporary dining. Located in a replica Indian longhouse, the restaurant features salmon and meats alder-smoked on the open-pit Indian-style barbecue. The chef does best with straightforward seafood preparations. We enjoy both the restaurant (especially for watching the Christmas ships) and the street side service. The aroma of alder wood burning is so lovely and the fish is always fresh and delicious. Yum!
