One of many offshoots of the original Ivar's Acres of Clams, the Salmon House represents the Seattle institution's attempt at contemporary dining. Located in a replica Indian longhouse, the restaurant features salmon and meats alder-smoked on the open-pit Indian-style barbecue. The chef does best with straightforward seafood preparations. I've had some good meals at both Ivars both what jumps first to my mind is the salmon skewers for an appetizer. Just thinking of the alder wood smoke mixed in with the richness of the salmon makes my mouth water.
It's really expensive for the quality of food and service. The bar and walk up window outside are good though
