One of many offshoots of the original Ivar's Acres of Clams, the Salmon House represents the Seattle institution's attempt at contemporary dining. Located in a replica Indian longhouse, the restaurant features salmon and meats alder-smoked on the open-pit Indian-style barbecue. The chef does best with straightforward seafood preparations. We went there for the football game and the sailgating to the UW game. The price was inclusive of brunch and the sailgate to the game. My husband and I really don't eat big meals so we thought the cost of the brunch was expensive. The food was good and the staff were great but I thought the cost of the brunch was high.
Great staff and amazing food! Wonderful experience and the happy hour pricing was a bonus.

This is an old time favorite and the food was excellent. I love sitting and watching all of the boating traffic from the windows. I felt perhaps that we had inexperienced waitstaff who got a bit behind but maybe it was just a Sunday evening dinner rush -- we did not get our bread basket and it took 3 requests to get condiments, and this was after the hostess "lost" our reservation and initially told us we would "just have to wait 45 minutes" for a table. First time i have eaten at this Ivar's. Food was good, but nothing was over the top. View from corner window table was awesome overlooking the water. Overpriced! though �
