One of many offshoots of the original Ivar's Acres of Clams, the Salmon House represents the Seattle institution's attempt at contemporary dining. Located in a replica Indian longhouse, the restaurant features salmon and meats alder-smoked on the open-pit Indian-style barbecue. The chef does best with straightforward seafood preparations. Dinner at Ivar's Salmon House loved the food . Except reservation 6:30 seated after 7 our soup arrived about 8:30 then more waiting. Finished dinner and ready to go about 9:30. Cause of Problem: over booking, refusal to turn away walk ins. Over powering desire to make money at any cost. End result most restaurants shoot for a 45min. - 1hr. Turn over. My family and I were lucky enough to get reservations for both Easter and Mother’s Day Brunch. Ivar’s Salmon House showcases Native American Art and Photos throughout the restaurant, which I love. The view of Lake Union on a sunny day, with boats on the water is hard to top. BUT, the food is always delicious, fresh and AMAZING. My favorite Sunday Brunch in the city.

I was disappointed at how I was treated at the restaurant. I went there for a dinner since my mother came to visit far away from home on April 6th 2018. It was a table for 5 and I made reservation at 7.30pm. As me and my family entered the restaurant, we were not greeted by the two hostess at the front and they did not even say anything like as though I was invisible. So I said "Hi, I've made reservation at 7.30pm". The lady didn't even ask what was the name of the reservation and said that she couldn't find me on the list. ... read more
