I had my gallbladder removed here. Dr. Nigh did an awesome job. All of the pre-op testing was quick and the staff was excellent. Pre-op and post op nurses were amazing. I have had issues in the past with being sick after surgery from anesthesia. I told them ahead of time and they gave me extra meds to prevent it and I felt great after surgery. I'm so glad I chose IU West!
The worst ER ever. Had many experiences here for myself, my husband & my granddaughter. They give you minimal attention, look at you as if your a liar, and think your there just for the heck of it. Although some staff were nice, the care they give is just horrible. I've even heard horrible stories through friends. They treat people as if they're all drug addicts. So not impressed. I will say however the family medicine office & other areas of the hospital do help & care.
Called cardiology today and had someone answer the phone that talked to me like I was an idiot. Sick and stressed and don't need that. They need to train there people with manners and phone etiquette.
This place lasks diversity on a serious level. They run off their nurses of color because of fear of being upstaged by someone more qualified than them. My better half was there on shift for less than one week before she was told she had "performance issues" by an administrator. She was told this after the nurse they had her shadowing could not even pronounce the medications she was issuing her patients. My better half called her out on it! Wanted to say a little thank you to the Staff in the OBGYN Office of Dr. Grondahl, Dr. Richardson, & Dr. Krober - you guys are amazing! I had to do a three hour glucose test today that I was very anxious about and you all took such good care of me! I couldn't find anyone better myself to help bring my first born into this world! It's the little things. Thank you so much!
I took my son in to be check cuz he had cut his head and we rushed him in for what just to sit there and for the worked just to stare at me while I tried to stop the bleeding. Did not offer me paper towels or nothing we waited for a good 1 hour and a half when I hot up and walked out and went to Hendricks clinic and as soon as I took him in they took him in real quick did not Wait for 30 min and he was seen I now feel much better Thanks to God and Thanks to Hendricks clinic...next time Hendricks clinic or hospital will be my... read more
The doctors, nurses and anesthesiologists have been friendly and attentive. I'm very impressed with IU West hospital. It makes me appreciate what these ladies and gentlemen do each day to make a painful experience a bit less painful with kindness. IU West!
My husband was here for six days. I only have good things to say about the staff. They were exceptional! They were attentive and helpful in every way, from the emergency room, to the PCU, to the regular floor. There are too many names to mention. We had a good connection with every nurse, aide, and Doctor we dealt with. Thank you all!
complete lack of respect for patients. horrible lack of communication among staff. pa didn't even know there had been an x ray. would rather laugh and make jokes outside the door than help patients and try to relieve them of their intense pain. not to mention how the pa himself just left in the middle of examining the injury and has yet to come back over 30 minutes later. never been treated so poorly
