Everything from his initial consultation to the surgery itself was done with concern, excellent care, and empathy. He takes his time, answers all questions completely and thoroughly, and replies to follow up messages and questions promptly. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Itenburg is a very caring and takes the time to listen and explain everything. He did my husband's colon surgery and would not go to no one else.
My experience with this so called doctor was horrific. I would never go back to him or recommend him to anyone. He is cold and uncaring, rude and probably not knowledgeable. When someone acts as badly as he did to me, with my daughter sitting next to me to confirm this, I would tell anyone that he is not to be trusted. In fact, I have told at least 50 people so far to stay away from him. They will tell others, as that's how these things go.
My first (and last visit) with this so-called specialist was one of the most surreal experiences of my life. Whatever accolades and recommendations this so-called surgeon has on this website are either false or at the very least exaggerated. He obviously flunked bedside manner! Not only was he short, and completely cold and uncaring with me, I also saw him berate and humiliate 2 of what I assume was his staff members. That really disturbed me as much as his treatment of me! He needs to go!
Nevermind that Dr Itenberg is likely the best colon surgeon this side of the Mississippi. Forget that he's affiliated with a great hospital or that he's got an office staff second to none. But, for just a moment, think about his specialty...and ask yourself what would it take to eliminate any apprehension, vulnerability or whatever feelings come to mind at the thought of any procedure that starts in your [rear] end. Dr Itenberg eliminated ALL of my fears and my surgery: a complete success.
I encountered Dr. Itenberg when I sustained a serious puncture wound during a fall. I could hear several emergency room doctors saying, "I've never seen anything like this. We'd better get Itenberg over here." They did, thank God. I am practically good as new thanks to his work.
