I wish I could give 0 stars for this doctor. Writing review on behalf of my roommate who had meniscus repair surgery on her knee. The surgery was supposed to be a small clip of the meniscus and he did not prepare her for the possibility of it being a larger repair, which is what it turned out to be. He assured her it would be easy and it would not be repaired. We were unhappy with the results for my husband's knee surgery. The first surgery was done badly. The second one was also done badly. We had to go to another doctor to get him back to 80% function which is as good as they can do now. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. Surgeon that we got to fix him as well as possible said that the first two knee surgeries were badly done. These surgeries of altered the course of my husband's life forever. Mobility is compromised.

This was the worst experience of my life. He was 2 hours late to the surgery. I was released from the surgery without any pain meds. I drove home for an hour and by the time I picked up my meds I was shaking in pain. I called for a refill on my meds and was told that ibuprofen should do. It wasn't that's why I called. I got an infection in one of my sites when I called to tell him that it was incredibly sore he couldn't see me until Monday. I realize that by accident one or two patients here, or there are going to have successful outcomes after knee replacements by almost any orthopedic surgeon, who has gone to school for such a procedure. However, the reviewers who have commented negatively on Dr. Novak are telling it like it is. He is incredibly pompous, and seems to care little for his patients. I had my knee replaced by him and it was the worst experience I have ever had. He was rude and had no bedside manner. After ten months I went to another Dr. and after looking at the X-rays he told me the implant was not in correctly, the knee-cap was in the wrong place and the miniscus was not correct. Could he have messed up more? I would never recommend him to anyone. I will probably have to have more surgery to fix all of his mistakes.

So many regrets about using this Dr. he operated on a patient he probably should have denied due to their health issues! There was absolutely no sympathy or condolences when things didn’t go well. I feel this Dr was very eager to operate!
Our family loves Dr. Lau! As a parent, it is appreciated when Dr. Lau takes the time to listen to my concerns regarding my children's health. My kids enjoy going to visit her and her staff is professional, friendly, and helpful.

It's been three weeks and one day since my total hip replacement. Dr. Novak is a great surgeon. This is my second hip replacement and again it went well. Yes a bit more pain this time around but that's not his fault. Today I was able to put on my socks and cowboy boots without any pain or discomfort. Just three weeks after a major total hip replacement surgery. This guy is one fantastic Doctor. Don't let the whiners influence you with a bad review. I've been there and had the full deal twice.
